2014 A Look Back!
An exciting New Year lies ahead! As we look forward to this year’s opportunities, let’s take a look back at some of our 2014 highlights:
Williams & Company was selected to engage in advertising sales here at the Alario Center. We’re looking forward to bringing back advertising opportunities that allow us to partner with local businesses and sponsors.
Renovations and improvements throughout the facility included roof repairs and/or replacements in Halls A and B along with brand new HVAC equipment and new protective wall padding in Hall B. Hall C underwent selective demolition and repurposing of some areas previously, a new epoxy coating of the concrete subflooring and refinishing/repainting of the hardwood courts. We even made some improvements to our curb appeal with a newly restriped parking lot and exterior waterproofing of the building. In addition to these building improvements, wireless internet capability was installed throughout the entire facility and construction of our new exterior marquee was completed! Be sure to check it out when you pass us on the West Bank Expressway!
Luckily, renovations were scheduled around our calendar so that we could focus on what we do best: hosting events! We appreciate our loyal clients and repeat business and successfully maintained relationships and recurring facility use agreements with AAU Basketball to host multi-weekend events, Fore!Kids Foundation to provide parking and daycare during the Zurich Classic, and various local schools to host graduations as well as homecoming dances. We’re proud to announce that Segnette Field continues to serve as the practice facility and home game site for Loyola Baseball. These are just a few of many examples of recurring events we are happy to host annually.
New clients welcomed to the Alario Center in 2014 include the Home Builders Association’s Southern Sportsman Festival & Expo – last year’s inaugural event featured an outdoor stage with live music, food vendors, and a variety of vendors in the hunting/fishing/camping/outdoor industry. Other events joining our schedule were the LSU School of Medicine’s White Coat Ceremony and Ring of Honor Wrestling just to name a few of the diverse events that we can accommodate!
As the film industry continues to boom in Louisiana, aka, “Hollywood South,” the Alario Center had the pleasure of being a part of it. Several major pictures chose our facility as part of their productions and base camps.
Hall C was available for rental in 2014 for the first time since the relocation of the New Orleans Pelicans and it hosted a variety of events such as the International Gem and Jewelry Show, Dinosauria Experience, liquidation sale, and private business events.
2014 was a great year for the Alario Center! We look forward to 2015 and any new adventures that may come our way. Happy New Year!
